Location:

The Plough & the Stars is located on 2nd Street, between Market and Chestnut, close (50ft) from the corner of 2nd and Chestnut St. The entire Corn Exchange Building is addressed as 123 Chestnut St. and you may see this occasionally as the Plough’s address. Just remember that our entrance is on 2nd St. On the good days you’ll see our outdoor seating and yellow umberellas!

Hours:

We are open 365 days a year.

With the exception of some holidays including St Patrick’s Day and Christmas Day, we follow this schedule.

Dinner

5pm to 10pm (Mon. –Thurs), 10.30pm (Fri. and Sat.)and 5pm to 9pm (Sun)
Lunch

11.30am to 2.30pm (Mon- Fri)
Brunch

10.30am to 3.30pm (Sat & Sun)
Bar menu

7 days ‘til 1am
(N.B. We do not serve the Bar menu in all areas so please check with your server)

Capacity:

Overall seating capacity;

85 for dinner (40 smoking/ 60 non smoking). 30 Outdoor seats.

Private parties:
Seating for 60 on the balcony level. For drinks, cocktail and business parties etc up to 300 including 100 seats.

Directions to the Plough:

Using I95 from the North I-95 and Betsy Ross Bridge.

Follow the signs for “Central Phila./I-676” (Exit 22). Follow signs for Historic Area and Independence Hall. Turn right onto Callowhill Street and follow until 4th Street. Turn left onto 4th Street and follow until Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and turn right on 2nd St. Follow on for almost a block to Chestnut. We are on your left before you reach Chestnut St.

Using I95 from the South

Following I95 take the Columbus Blvd. exit. Turn left onto the Columbus Blvd at the bottom of the ramp. Follow that route and take the Market St., exit on the right after a couple of miles. Turn left at the top of the ramp and this brings you to 2nd & Market. Turn left again and follow towards Chestnut St. We are on your left before you reach Chestnut St.

From the West

Take I-76 East to Exit 344/I- 676 East and take the 6th exit. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Stay in the right lanes avoiding the left lanes to New Jersey exits. Keep left and turn left on Market St. Then turn right on to 2nd St. Follow on for almost a block to Chestnut. We are on your left before you reach Chestnut St.,

From the East and New Jersey

Follow the Ben Franklin Bridge heading West and take the exit at the immediate end of the bridge. This turns sharply to the right and under the bridge. You are on 4th St. heading South. Follow this to Market. Turn Left on Market and right on to 2nd St. and follow towards Chestnut St. We are on your left before you arrive at Chestnut St.,

Public Transportation

Take the Blue Line to 2nd Street. This brings you to 2nd & Market St. Proceed South towards Chestnut. We’re on your left before you get to Chestnut St.,
