Emigrants to the United States in the early 1990’s  Marion Ryder & Jerome Donovan opened their first restaurant The Bards, quickly followed by The Plough & the Stars. Over the past 20 years, their restaurants have become an integral part of the neighborhoods they are located in.  With an innovative approach to Irish cuisine Marion & Jerome earned local and national media attention including a feature article in the renowned and influential ‘The Robb Report.’ Marion and Jerome’s success is due to their proprietary style, a genuine caring for, and a dedication to, providing an exceptional experience to their customers. Their professional leadership and culinary expertise has earned several awards including a James Beard Award and  their restaurants have been featured on CBS; FOX; NBC; ABC and Food Network a few times. Their restaurants are routinely recommended on numerous Airline flight magazines for visitors to the North East United States. the Plough & the Stars is Philadelphia’s premier Irish Pub.
